Media reporting, open-source intelligence and LinkedIn profiles confirm identity and enrich a record. They are not a primary source for adding a PEP. Methodology is aligned to UNCAC, FATF, the EU Fourth AML Directive, the UK Money Laundering Regulations, JMLSG and the Wolfsberg Group.

Who curates the domestic data?

FPM researches and curates domestic sanctions, PEP and reputational risk data in-house. Global sanctions come from the issuing authorities. Global PEPs and adverse media come from Acuris Risk Intelligence, for which FPM is an authorized distribution partner.

Is a PEP record ever removed?

Former office-holders are retained after their term ends. Continuing relevance is reviewed. A match you already reported stays on record even if the PEP record is later corrected or removed.

Are global PEPs included by default?

No. Global PEPs and adverse media are an optional Acuris subscription. The default data set covers domestic data and global sanctions.

Data terms: data is obtained in good faith from official and public sources and is not independently verified by FPM. FPM does not guarantee its accuracy or completeness. A screening match supports the client's due diligence. The final risk determination rests with the client.
